With the rapid change in business growth-model-volume, the organization is often facing short storage facilities to meet current and future possible expansion. How to calculate size requirements and how to set a contract with provider, most Supply Chain-Logistics-Warehouse Managers do not have a sufficient set of skills and knowledge, often the calculation is based on history and intuition instead of the standard way of calculation.

This base results in possible excessive space requirement or event shortage of space, which finally impact higher Supply Chain and Operation costs, due to unplanned requirements. Meanwhile, Supply Chain should show cost value added instead of waste.

After completion of this program, participants will be better able to:

  • Understand the necessity of having the formula to calculate warehouse sizing.
  • Identify data requirements for determining warehouse size-design-layout-flow
  • Communicate and be proactive in data collection and transform it into the template
  • Able to formulate a template for warehouse sizing calculation, long-term fix size, and contracted size
  • Design and layout based on a product category of ABC analysis extended XYZ-123 approach
  • Design facility requirement, manpower, and other warehouse facilities needed
