Values Excellence: What Is Your Why?

Why are values important? It is the last thing that people can hold on to where everything else is not working to survive in the whirlwind of uncertainty. A strong organization that can survive in any whirlwind of business is an organization that has a strong value embedded in every way, decision, and people.

How to embed this? Remember Enron, a company with a strong value but yet to reach bankruptcy in the 90s. There's nothing wrong with its values, it's the people on the top of the pyramid who were not walking the talk. It is important to have alignment between personal values and organizational values if we don't want to end up like Enron.

An organization will only grow to the extent that the people in it grow themselves. Every individual in the organization should be aware of their own values and how they are aligned as such with the company values to gain both victories. It is the engine that makes people keep moving with motivation towards organizational success. and that's the true Values of Excellence.
