ISO 22000:2018 Practices

The adoption of a food safety management system (FSMS) is a strategic decision for an organization that can help to improve its overall performance in food safety. The potential benefits to an organization of implementing an FSMS are:
1. The ability to consistently provide safe foods and products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements;
2. Addressing risks associated with its objectives;
3. The ability to demonstrate conformity to specified FSMS requirements.

This training is designed based on the latest International Standard of ISO 22000 second edition 2018 Food Safety Management System which is a requirement for any organization in the food chain. All requirements of this standard are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations in the food chain, regardless of size and complexity. 

Organizations that are directly or indirectly involved include, but are not limited to, feed producers, animal food producers, harvesters of wild plants and animals, farmers, producers of ingredients, food manufacturers, retailers, and organizations providing food services, catering services, cleaning and sanitation services, transportation, storage and distribution services, suppliers of equipment, cleaning and disinfectants, packaging materials and other food contact materials.

Upon completion of this program, participants will be better able to:
* Understand the standard and requirements of ISO 22000:2018 that are relevant to the food chain business
* Identification of gaps in the implementation of ISO 22000:2018 in the current organization
* Formulate strategic objectives and plans for implementation of ISO 22000:2018
* Conducting an audit of the implementation of ISO 22000:2018
* Develop systems & resources to support the implementation of ISO 22000:2018

* Debriefing: Group discussion

This module explains an overview of Clause 5 and Clause 6 requirements.

Module 2: Leadership (Clause 5) & Planning (Clause 6)

* Group exercise: Establish the planning to address Risk and Opportunity
* Debriefing: Group discussion

A group role play or exercise (case study) where participants establish planning to address Risk and Opportunity.

Case Study II

* The understanding requirement of Support (Clause 7) and Operation (Clause 8)
* The purpose

This module explains an overview of Clause 7 and Clause 8 requirements.

Module 3: Support (Clause 7) & Operation (Clause 8)

* Group exercise: observe and identify Non Conformity condition of Pre Requisite Program (PRP) implementation
* Debriefing: Group discussion

A group role play or exercise (case study) where participants observe and identify Non Conformity condition of Pre Requisite Program (PRP).
