To make an intelligent financial decision, one must determine how much an asset is worth to him or her. The process to determine such asset value, commonly referred to “valuation process” is integral in making various financial-related activities: from managing investment portfolios up to determining prices to buy or sell businesses.

This introduction module lays out some general insights about the valuation process and examines three basic approaches that can be used for valuation processes.
