ESG Excellence: Strategy, Integration and Implementation for Banks

This intermediate-level training is designed to strengthen participants’ capability to develop and implement effective Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies within the banking sector. Building upon the foundational understanding of sustainability and the SDGs introduced in the basic program, this course focuses on how banks can strategically respond to evolving regulatory expectations, investor demands, and market pressures by embedding ESG principles across their operations, risk management, and overall business strategy, particularly across all functions within Bank. The program aims to ensure that every employee, regardless of their role, understands how their function contributes to and supports the Bank ESG strategy.

Through a blend of interactive lectures, case studies, group presentation and practical exercises, participants will explore how to deepen their understanding of ESG dimensions, construct a strategic ESG framework, and translate it into actionable initiatives and measurable performance indicators. By the end of the session, participants will gain the tools and insights needed to align ESG goals with Banking’s core business priorities and contribute meaningfully to the Bank’s sustainable finance objectives.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Understand the importance of ESG in the banking sector and their relevance to Bank’s strategy.
• Deepen knowledge of Environmental, Social, and Governance (E–S–G) aspects and how they relate to various banking functions.
• Build the key components of an ESG strategy, including vision, materiality, targets, and governance.
• Translate ESG strategy into actionable initiatives, programs, and measurable KPIs.
• Recognize how each function and employee can contribute to achieving Bank’s ESG goals.
